Lancelot Ribeiro
The Indian Expressionist painter, Lanceloté José Belarmino Ribeiro (1933-2010), was known for his pioneering use of materials, and uniquely experimental work over a six-decade career. He was born in Bombay on 28 November 1933, but his ancestral roots were from Goa.

Tantra + Sufism exhibition opening
Ribeiro’s richly coloured geometric abstractions, which emerged following his six-month stay in India in 1968-69, has been a hidden gem in the Neo-Tantric canon. In this new group exhibition, entitled Tantra + Sufism in New York, works by Ribeiro will feature, with their first showing in the United States.
